Legacy Guardians
Protect your family's legacy with confidence.
Legacy Guardians lets you designate trusted individuals who can safeguard your Everletter account if you're ever unable to manage it yourself. Through Everletter's Trust Protocol, your memories remain protected, your wishes are respected, and your family's stories continue exactly as you intended.
Designate primary and secondary guardians through Everletter's Trust Protocol — so your memories stay protected and your wishes are honored if you can't manage your account yourself. Read the Legacy Guardians guide.
Not social media
No feeds, likes, or public profiles. EverLetter is a family legacy platform — built for loved ones, not followers.
“I recorded a letter on a Tuesday night after the kids went to bed. Knowing it unlocks on her 18th birthday makes me feel less anxious about the years ahead.”
“My mom records from her iPad in Ohio. We hear her voice on birthdays without another app or public post.”
“I built EverLetter because I wanted my children to always know my voice — not just my photos.”
EverLetter will never charge more because you're grieving. Plans differ by family size and features — not emotional urgency. Read our pricing ethics · Cancel anytime · Bereavement pause available

FAQ
Common questions
Everything parents ask before trusting us with their family's most important memories.
Is there an iOS or Android app?
EverLetter works today in your mobile browser. We’ve started building our native iOS app, and Android development is planned to follow. Join the app updates list on our mobile apps page, or sign up now — your memories and capsules carry over.
Who can see our family's memories?
Only you and the family members you explicitly invite. Nothing you preserve is public by default — not to other EverLetter users, not to us, and never to advertisers. You control every permission.
How is our data protected?
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest. Your media files are stored in U.S. data centers via Supabase with access controls that prevent unauthorized internal access. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your Memory Capsule content to train AI models. Read our Privacy Policy.
What about my children's privacy?
EverLetter is an adults-only platform. We never collect personal information directly from children under 13. Parents and guardians start child timelines on behalf of children — the child is the recipient, not an account holder. We follow COPPA requirements and publish a clear Children's Privacy Notice for families. Read how COPPA applies to family memory apps.
What happens to our memories if EverLetter closes?
Your memories are never held hostage. If EverLetter permanently discontinues the Service, Lifetime plan holders receive at least 180 days' advance notice, a complete export of every capsule in standard open formats (MP4, JPG, PDF, TXT), and a prorated refund. Annual and monthly subscribers receive at least 30 days' notice with the same export access. See our Legacy Protection Guarantee in the Terms of Service.
Can I export or move my data?
Yes, always. You can export all of your Memory Capsules — videos, audio, photos, letters, and documents — from your account settings at any time. Your content is stored in standard formats (MP4, JPG, PDF, TXT) so it works in any media player, photo app, or document viewer without EverLetter. Compare plans and export options.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime from Settings → Membership with no cancellation fees or penalties. Your subscription stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for. After it ends, you have 60 days to export your vault or resubscribe — your memories stay preserved during that time.
Can I pause billing instead of canceling?
Yes. Family owners can pause a recurring subscription for 1, 2, 3, or 6 months from Settings → Membership. Billing stops and creating or inviting is frozen, but your memories and Family Circle stay preserved. Your subscription automatically resumes when the pause ends — we'll email you 7, 3, and 1 days before billing restarts.
What if I can't afford my subscription after a loss?
We offer a bereavement pause (30–90 days) and limited hardship assistance for single parents facing financial strain. We never raise prices because you are grieving. Read our Pricing Ethics & Bereavement Pause policy.
Can grandparents and other relatives contribute memories?
Yes. The family owner can invite grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, mentors, and trusted friends to contribute capsules to any child's timeline. Contributors don't need a paid plan — the family owner's subscription covers everyone they invite.
What are Legacy Guardians?
Legacy Guardians are trusted people you designate to safeguard your Everletter account if you become unable to manage it. Through our Trust Protocol, they can help carry out your legacy wishes — including emergency capsule release, memorial settings, and inheritance controls — with verification, audit logging, and your explicit instructions at every step. Legacy Guardians are included on Family Legacy and above. Read the Legacy Guardians guide.
Is EverLetter like a digital time capsule?
Yes — Memory Capsules are digital time capsules. You record video, voice letters, photos, and written messages today, then lock them until a date you choose — a birthday, graduation, wedding, or any milestone. When the day arrives, your child receives your voice and words exactly as you left them. Read our guide to digital time capsules for kids.
How do I write a letter to my child for the future?
Start small: choose one future date, write one honest page, and say what you want your child to feel when they open it. Most parents begin with encouragement, a family story, or the values they hope to pass on. In EverLetter you can save it as a written letter, record it in your own voice, or do both. Read our guide to leaving a letter for your child.
Can I schedule voice messages for future birthdays?
Yes. Record a voice note or video today, then schedule it to unlock on a birthday, age milestone, or any date you choose. Your child hears your voice on the day you picked — not when an algorithm decides to surface a memory. Learn how Memory Capsules schedule voice and video.
What is a digital legacy for children?
A digital legacy for children is the private archive of voice, letters, photos, and guidance you preserve for them to receive over time — not a public social profile. EverLetter keeps that archive inside your Family Circle, with scheduled unlocks, optional Legacy Guardians for continuity, and export whenever you want your own copy. Read our digital legacy for children guide.
Why trust EverLetter with family memories?
EverLetter is built for private family archives, not public engagement. We use encrypted storage, family-only permissions, exportable standard formats, and clear policies on bereavement pauses, discontinuation notice periods, and children's privacy. We also do not train AI models on your Memory Capsule content. Learn more about our mission and trust commitments.
How does my child view their messages?
When a Memory Capsule unlocks, your child can view it through a private share link you control — a simple read-only portal with no EverLetter account required. They only see capsules that have unlocked; locked messages stay hidden until their scheduled date.
